QOTW: Who do you shop from?

I tend to shop from Blythe clothing sellers that I know – either in person or people that I’ve developed friendships with online. I like doing that because I end up supporting people that I know, and there’s something special about owning something and being able to say something who it’s from. It’s the bonus of being in a hobby community where so many people are talented and able to create things for the dolls that I love. On the flip side, I love browsing through Etsy and Artfire and finding new-to-me vendors because it lets me become introduced to some new faces in the doll community – and supporting that new talent is important as well!
Now if only shipping to Canada wasn’t that expensive…
Do you shop from sellers that you know, or give strangers a chance?
I run the gamut for my shopping. I love buying on etsy and have gotten some cute clothes and bargain sales, I’ve bought a few outfits off eBay, my best friend who is also a collector has whipped up some cute clothes from the Blythe simplicity pattern and has also done some amazing twists on them too. thanks to this website I’ve been introduced to some amazing talents!
Since I’m very new to the Blythe hobby and community, I tend to shop on Etsy stores that I’ve seen reviews about or on some sundries groups on Facebook. I have however bought a couple of things just from browsing and really liking the item without knowing anything about the person that crafted that item.
I also craft many items for my doll (I only have one so far), mainly crochet. I sew too but I’m still not used to such small sizes and it is considerably hard to control it! I’m getting there though! 😀
Thanks to your blog and others like you I feel like I have a support, even thought I don’t know a lot of people and not a lot of people know me. <3
I love to browse etsy, and I’ve definitely bought from shops I’ve never heard of before, but I do love to support the creators that I’m familiar with. Most of the things I’ve purchased have been excellent quality, so I’m happy to keep more business coming to those shops!
