For those that were unable to attend BlytheCon Seattle, do not despair! This is a giveaway for those who were unable to attend BlytheCon Seattle last Saturday (or if you were, I’m not doing an attendance check). One lucky winner will receive all the items in this photo:

This lucky individual will receive: one set of BlytheCon Seattle postcards (there are 3), a BlytheCon Vancouver pin-back button (which are pretty awesome, if I do say so myself), a wubba chicken, a mini BlytheLife goodie bag (not pictured, whoops!), and a pastel rainbow Blythe knitted cardigan (made by Michelle/chelleshocks/me) – which features a snap closure with decorative button, and two working front pockets! There may or may not be additional goodies added over the next week, but I will have an updated photo (with the BlytheLife goodie bag) next week when I announce the winner.

What do you have to do? Just comment below, and then enter via the Rafflecopter! If you comment and do not enter via the Rafflecopter widget, your comment will not count towards an entry for the contest! There are additional ways to enter – check the Rafflecopter widget!

The giveaway runs until Friday August 15th 2014 at 11:59pm Pacific. The draw will be held on Saturday August 16th 2014 and the winners will be announced on BlytheLife.com. Remember to use a valid email address for all comments. If you win, I will be contacting you for your mailing information.

Please only use one email address per person, those using multiple email addresses for more entries will be disqualified.

This giveaway is open to international entrants.

BlytheCon Seattle: Recap!

I was unable to attend the Friday panel with Allison Katzman and Junko Wong, or the pre-meet in the park, as I was in Canada. So I won’t be talking about either of those events! I know from hearing people talk about it that both were amazing, and I’m very jealous of everyone who was in Seattle on Friday that was able to do both! There are a lot of photos in this post, so you have been forewarned!

The morning of BlytheCon for me began with a road trip with three lovely ladies who are also from British Columbia. We had quite a wait at the border crossing as everyone else was also heading to BlytheCon as well was headed to the United States as it is a long weekend for us up in Canada (Monday is BC Day for those in BC). So there was that. We arrived to BlytheCon and checked in at around 11am. People were already bustling about and buying All The Things! It took me a little while to get myself settled in – I took out my dolls, got some BlytheCon Vancouver buttons out and kind of went on my way to shop. And shop I did! One Short Day in the Emerald City!

As many of my fellow Canadians know, postage rates from Canada to pretty much any where (including Canada!) is rather… astronomical. It was not financially savvy for me to ship anything down to the BlytheCon Seattle organizers for the goodie bags because even though the items I had to give away would have been light. The workers at Canada Post takes bulk into consideration as well, regardless of how lightweight something is. Unfortunate, I know. I really wish that it was cheaper, but it just wasn’t worth it to ship any of it because the cost just wasn’t feasible. I’m not made of money (unfortunately? surprise?).

Luckily, I will be attending BlytheCon tomorrow. I’m currently still in Canada, but I will be in the US tomorrow by leaving bright and early. I actually wrote a final exam today! It was my last final for my last summer course for the term so I am very happy that the summer term is over and I’m finally on a “real” summer holiday! I get a little over two weeks off before the start of term again, and I’m so excited that my first day of holidays will be spent with a whole bunch of Blythe enthusiasts! I am very excited to get to see a lot of people that I haven’t seen since 2011, to meet people that I’ve “met” online, and to make new friends! As mentioned previously, I can be quite shy in large group situations, but you can identify me by the following:

I will have this bag with me! I will have BlytheCon Vancouver buttons to give away if you come to say hi to me. If you mention this blog or the name BlytheLife, I may have extra goodies for you. And if you have Moo or other business cards for trade or to give away, I’ll have some cards for you too!

For those curious, and not into musicals, One Short Day is the name of a song from the musical Wicked when Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Galinda (later known as Glinda) visit the Emerald City for the very first time.

QOTW: Have you ever been to a BlytheCon?

Depending on how you count your days, there are currently 26 more days to go until BlytheCon Seattle (August 2nd, 2014 – for those curious). BlytheCon, to me, will always be a special event. I missed out on going to Dallas in 2012 and New York City in 2013, but Seattle is so close that I just can’t say no to going! It also helps that so many local dolly friends will be attending as well (and some will even be vending!).

June 20th - BlytheCon!

BlytheCon 2011, which took place in Portland, Oregon, will always hold a near and dear place in my heart because it was the first time I ever met other people who collected Blythes. It was the first time I was able to truly put usernames (and real names!) to faces. It was also the first time that I met people who live near me that have Blythes. And that, kids, is how I met other local dolly enthusiasts! The Portland BlytheCon is still the only BlytheCon that I have attended, so far. Going to Seattle will mean two things for me: 1) seeing friends that I was able to see face-to-face in Portland again, and b) making new friends! I’ll be there, with some not-yet-decided dolls in tow… But more on that later!

There are many other Blythe events that happen worldwide too! What with Blythe Fest, BlytheCon UK, BlytheCon EU, and so many more. I’d love to attend others as well! But it is currently not financially feasible, but one day? Perhaps I shall be there.

Have you ever been to a BlytheCon?
