QOTW: Small Family vs. Large Family?

So glad to be wearing a kimono...

There is a different size of doll family for every person. Some people have one Blythe, some have two, others have twenty. I told myself at the beginning that I would only have one Blythe – this lasted for all of a month, by the way. I’ll admit that I wish I had the funds and the space for over a hundred Blythes, or more, but I don’t. As it is, I find it difficult to make time for all of my Blythes, but it’d be nice to have quite a few more dolls. I would enjoy having a rainbow family with all the hair colours, and a gaggle of Kenners. I like the size of the family that I have right now (a dozen), but I don’t know if it consider it to be small or large. Small and large are both such relative terms. In comparison to someone with over a hundred dolls, I have a puny doll family. But compared to someone who has two Blythes, I have a lot of dolls. But a dozen is a nice round number and I think that I can handle it for now.

Do you prefer having a small doll family or a large doll family?

I have 8 girls… I would like to have more – isn’t that the case with all Blythe owners!?! lol I wonder at what point do you start having trouble giving each girl the attention she needs?

I have three Kenners and hope to add a couple of EBL’s and then I am done. No more than six for me.

To keep my collection small (or atleast try to) I like to focus on custom blythe dolls, and what their style is. This keeps my blythe clothing under control too! If I have a blythe that is more “everyday” style, one that is goth, one that is more Lolita, then I also dress them accordingly. I agree if your collection gets too big, you can’t enjoy each doll, and blythe is meant to be played with!

I’ve just started to collect and I’ve 6 blythe girls and 1 middie. I have to admit I’m crazy about each one. So cute and fun to make clothing for them to wear.

Seems like everyone starts out with just one and then there is the explosion! 🙂

I started with one, but of course she needed a friend . . . so soon there were two.

Then I saw a custom I wanted (after stalking and loosing out on a bunch of different customs on BK) . . . and then there were three.

When it appeared that my first two were ignoring #3 (don’t laugh . . . three just seemed like, well, an ODD number) . . . number four came along.

I’m at four currently, but I’m sure #5 isn’t too far off (and of course #6 as well, because we can’t have ODD numbers around here . . .)

I am not sure if I care either way. haha

I don’t know how many I have right now because they are everywhere. Just because I don’t photograph one doesn’t mean I love her any less.
