QOTW: Do you have a doll blog?

In a world where social media sites like Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr are becoming more and more prevalent – for better or for worse, a lot less people are keeping active blogs these days. Case in point, I have a few other websites besides BlytheLife but BlytheLife is the only one that I actively update. Why? Because dolls are just so much more fun!

Hard at work!

In the past, I’ve done quite a few posts about blogging and how to set up a blog because I think that blogs still have a place in the internet world and they’re still relevant when it comes to communication and providing you, my lovely readers, with a place to go. Whether you’re reading this on your computer or on a tablet, blogs still have a huge presence on the World Wide Web and I do hope that you agree. It’s hard to keep up with a blog though! Not only do I have to write the content, there’s so many things that I do behind the scenes that you probably would never know about but it keeps things running smoothly so that the posts go up on time. Blogging is something that I’ve done for a long time now (since 2003!) and I think it’s a great medium to use to communicate with others, which is why I enjoy doing it so much! Dolls are, by far, my favourite topic to blog about. Especially when it comes to these big-eyed lovelies!

QOTW: What are your dolls dressing up as for Halloween?

It is the question of the month, much less the week. I love coming up with costume ideas for my plastic darlings, even if I don’t take them out for Halloween. It’s just a fun thing to get to do. I’ve had a Dorothy, a Cinderella, a Medusa (complete with a head full of snakes!) and a cute little squid. What’s next for the girls who grace my presence with their plastic selves? I am so glad that you asked!

My pink-loving Eden Mouse is going to be dressed up as a princess because she maintains that “I am a princess and therefore I should dress accordingly at all times of the day.” Right…

And then we have Tertiary Jane, who’s decided to go as an ice dancer this year and thought that the orange would really go well with the Halloween theme (was she right?). Sometimes the simpliest stock can be the most useful!

The fraternal twins, Mollie and Moxie, don’t have Halloween costumes yet… and the days are counting down to Halloween! So they will be revealing their costume soon, provided school doesn’t continue to get in the way for me!

QOTW: If you could have any Blythe in the world, who would it be?

This is such a loaded question because I’m not asking which stock Blythe doll you would want if you had your choice in the matter. It’s just any Blythe doll ever. That includes stock dolls, customs, Kenners, soon-to-be released Blythes – all of them. So who’s doll(s) have you been coveting over the years? Which doll would you snatch up in a heartbeat if she ever came up for sale?

The most darling chunky banged Kenner
This is Chunk, she’s a chunky-banged brunette that I adore.

QOTW: What are you thankful for?

Happy Thanksgiving! It is Thanksgiving day today here in Canada.

I’m thankful for the beautiful autumn leaves, the chance and the ability to get a good education, that I can afford luxuries in life like my Blythes, wonderful friends both here and offline and the internet.

QOTW: Do you take photos of Blythe in public?

June 20th - BlytheCon!

I’ve been collecting Blythe dolls since 2009 and I’m still not particularly comfortable about taking dolls out in public to photograph. I’m a lot better about it when I’m with others, it’s a comforting feeling to be in a group because then it’s really more a social thing that we’re doing – doesn’t everyone whip out a doll on a regular basis to photograph? I’m still shy about it, which I wish I wasn’t. I try to avoid taking photos of my dolls in public when I’m alone though, or even with family members. I think it’s easiest to pull out my dolls when others around me have dolls – safety in numbers!
