QOTW: What have you made recently?

It’s fun to make things! Part of what the winner of the BlytheLife.com’s 5th birthday giveaway will be a doll sweater (or two, or three… It really depends on how many I wind up making). I like small knitting projects like Blythe sweaters because they’re easier to carry around. The socks (for me!) that I’m working on this month aren’t that great as a travelling knitting project because it’s stranded colourwork and at one point, I need to have 3 balls of yarn. They’re a bit better now because it’s just one colour. Blythe sweaters are a bit better in that I just need one ball of yarn (usually, unless I’m doing stripes like in the romper above) and then I just go and knit. The great thing about dolly knits is that due to the size, it doesn’t take nearly as long to complete a doll sweater as it does to complete a pair of socks that fit my feet.

What have you made recently for Blythe? (If you haven’t crafted recently, what have you bought for Blythe?)

^^ I crochet for my dolls. Most recently it’s been a red and white striped top and a beanie with a Pom Pom. I love how fast my dolly crochet projects go, as opposed to how long projects take me to complete when they’re human sized.

I had this crochet pattern for a beautiful dress with matching cardigan that I had wanted to try for a long time. The day came when I finally decided to tackle the project and everything was going well until the dress suddenly seemed to be bigger than expected. It doesn’t look all that bad on my Blythe, but you can tell that it’s not the proper size. Luckily for me, the dress was not a total waste because it perfectly fits another doll. Now I’m determined to make another one and see what went wrong the first time.

Nothing better than the perfect little knitting projects. They can be so intricate but still not take long. It would take multiples of the time to make myself something and mess up my whole house. No better way to connect with my inner fashion designer!

I recently made a poncho-like thing for Blythe, and a headband with a green pom pom – also for Blythe. I really like sewing and crocheting for dolls, as it is easy and fun! 🙂

I love crafting for Blythe! I also make clothes for my FR dolls, but Blythe fashions are much more fun to make 🙂 Today I’m working on a knitted sweater with matching leg warmers (although we are in the middle of heat weave right now). These are for my personal collection, but if they turn out good, I’ll make some more for my Etsy shop. It’s not opened yet, I plan to open it next month 🙂
