Love, Sophie: My BlytheCon Wish List

Dear Santa Claus,

I have been an awfully good Blythe this year, I hope you have been paying attention to keep me on the Nice list! As such, I would very much love an advance on my Christmas present this year. I know that August seems a little bit early, but you have to remember that I live in a family of fifteen now and it’s awfully difficult to get any sort of attention from Michelle these days.

If you will recall, Michelle left me at home in 2011 when she went to Portland for BlytheCon with Belarus. She also left me at home in 2014 when she went to BlytheCon in Seattle and took that freak Eden and one of the old ones with her. As her first Blythe, I’ve been feeling a little bit neglected recently. In a family of fifteen where I need to share my shoes, it’s unfortunate that the one who inspired all of this has been left to collect dust on a shelf. No love for Sophie. None. I’ve been tempted to call for Blythe Protective Services, but Michelle insists that this is not a real thing. However, since I mentioned calling them she has been keeping a closer eye on my internet time so I suspect that she is lying…

Anyways, back to what I wanted to talk to you about! I’m hoping to go to BlytheCon Vancouver, third time’s the charm, right? Failing that, if you could please make sure that Michelle buys me some nice things? There are some clothes that I’d love to get my hands on by some fancy dress makers, and I wouldn’t mind some new tights and socks. However, no way should you send me a new sister via BlytheCon Vancouver. I know there will be people selling Blythes there but that is no good to me. No good at all! Some new dresses, maybe a tiara.

Failing this, please get Rudolph to bring me an ice floe – I’d like to push Eden and Primrose off onto it and wave goodbye to them from land.

Love, Sophie: The Beauty of Heels

Hello, my wonderful and lovely readers! Today I am going to talk about one of my most favourite things in the world. And no, I won’t be talking about clothes even though I really love clothes! I’m going to be talking about shoes! Specifically, I will be talking about heels.

Now I know what you’re thinking. “Sophie,” you say, “aren’t you forgetting that Blythe’s feet don’t have that super high arch like Barbie does?” And you would be right – Blythe’s feet don’t have that super high arch that Barbie does. But it doesn’t mean that Blythe can’t wear heels, it just means that we can’t wear the same heels. And who would want to, anyways? All of Barbie’s shoes are pink, ugh. Plus that high arch is just telling you that you will have sore feet from standing all day long.

Look at the variety that we can choose from! For your consideration, from left to right, I have: vintage Francie heels, super low Skipper flats with the tiniest heel in the world, my stock heels, heels I stole from Belarus (Love Mission), and some platform heels (Fancy Pansy & Nostalgic Pop).

All super cute, all in a variety of colours – to go with a variety of outfits!

What are your favourite heels? Share below!

Love, Sophie: Fashion Topics for 2015?

Hello to my adoring audience! And welcome to the first Love, Sophie post for 2015!

It’s been kind of an up-and-down year so far for me. Michelle has implemented this No Spend challenge and it’s been so hard for me. I’m trying to get her to break it by adding her into Facebook groups and bookmarking eBay listings… But she has a strong resolve, that one. So in lieu of doing some kind of Etsy haul post, I wanted to know what you wanted to read from me this year!

I love writing about fashion, but it has been pointed out to me that sometimes I can wear things that are a bit… pricey. And that maybe your owners are as stingy as Michelle when it comes to her No Spend challenge. If there are any specific fashion topics that you’d love to read about, I’d love to hear about them! After all, Love, Sophie wouldn’t be able to exist without you (and me!).

Love, Sophie: My Belated Wishlist Edition

You didn’t think that 2014 would end without a post from me, did you?! As the holidays are reaching their peak, Michelle is getting a bit frazzled what with the parties to attend, the gifts to wrap, and the cookies that still need to be baked. There’s just so much to do, and so little time to do it. In this house, we happen to celebrate this odd holiday where a jolly man in a red-and-white suit drops off presents via the chimney to the tree while being carted around the world by a bunch of horses with head-gear. Or something. I don’t really know the specifics, okay? The presents just show up! Anyways…

What do I want this year for the holidays? I’m glad you asked (because Michelle sure didn’t!). I’d love some more dresses. The favourite dress designers in this house tend to be Plastic Fashion and Kult of Kulta.

And maybe some separates too! We love tops (and casual dresses) by erica duh and Luxie Lou, and pants by Blythe Couture and Puppy52 are aces.

Then there’s the shoes. The shoes! We have a lot of glittery shoes (from Jemgirl Creations) that we love (and I absolutely adore, I don’t share if I can help it!) and I think we would benefit from more boots in general. I love boots, and all other tiny shoes.

My secret holiday wish is for Michelle to decide to bring in a new sister. This may seem a bit counter-productive seeing as how I loathe sharing, but whenever we do get a new sister, Michelle goes off on this splurge process where she buys new things! Thus, getting a new sister is good for my wardrobe and shoe closet.

Merry Christmas to all of my wonderful fans! There will be more from me in 2015 as I talk about new fashions and what I think will be awesome!

Love, Sophie: Fun in the Sun Outfits

Even though it is halfway through August, I am still determined to have as much summer fun as I possibly can. This includes dressing the part. There are no excuses for your dolls to be in sweaters when it is the summer and the temperature is above 30°C (that’s +86°F for my American fans!). No excuses at all. And I say that as a doll that’s been in the same outfit for the several months now. Months. Do you realize how hard it is to look like someone who knows what they’re talking about it when comes to fashion when I’m stuck in the same dress for months? Granted, it is from one of my favourite designers – which is the only good part.

My summer wardrobe (if someone would actually help me out with a wardrobe change…) consists of:

Fun and light-fabric dresses, shorts, sandals, other cute shoes, and a decent hat to keep the sun out of my eyes. If you have super long hair like Cappuccino Chats often have, such as myself, you may also want to invest a couple dollars in some hair ties! They’re super handy to have around.

Sophie’s Fashion Tip: if you get the small, thin, clear elastics, they can help keep on finicky shoes when you’re outdoors and they won’t be super-duper obvious in photos!

20140815c

And for the beach, it’ll always be a cute swimsuit – to be accessorized with a matching towel (of course!), and a swimming cover-up!  Unfortunately, the weather here has been absolutely dismal for the last week or else I would model for you – it’s just too cold for swim suits! For those curious, the swimming coverup was made for Lalaloopsy Little dolls.

And yes, it is perfectly acceptable for fashionistas to have, and wear, hooded duck towels.

Until next time, stay fashionable!
